Run in the Boonies

Chattanooga, TN

I want to do a 100 miler really bad this winter. Any suggestions? would love something in the southeast. Or any good 100 mile trail races near southeast, any part of the year?

The Pinhoti 100 is coming up in November, it's in Alabama, it's a point to point, great run.
the pinhoti looks good, but its right after xc season, but i may still go for it. have you heard of Barkley 100

Barkley isn't until April-ish... and if you really want to run 100 miles, that probably isn't one that would be recommended - only 10 people made it to the second loop this year. (out of 5 loops!)

GUTS (the club in GA) is holding their inaugural 100m in March:

some of the bigger ones coming up (like Umstead and HURT) are already filled.

check out UltraRunning's calendar and perhaps you'll find one that fits with your training ramp up:

good luck!

A Friend of min attempted the Barkely 100 on at least one occasion that I know of and he didn't finish. You can read his report here:
