For many of you in our community, trail running and other forms of outdoor recreation have been the means of significant life change, increased quality of life, and a major component in your pursuit of a healthy and active lifestyle. Would you take a moment to tell us about it?

Since no one has mentioned anything yet. I will.

First, I've been running for 16 years. Second, why?

I run, because it makes me happy and physically feel great. I have Type 1 Diabetes (which really sucks btw) and running helps a ton with glucose regulation. I really enjoy running and having done plenty of road running. I almost strictly run trail now bec. the roads are mundane to me and not very safe, and I love to be surrounded by nature and not have to worry about an MP3 player. Who needs it when you've got all that peace and quiet around you. With that said, it's a way to chill out too...so it's kind of a stress reliever also. Add some friends and technical trail to that and you've got a great workout.

I have been running for 9 years. I trail run because the track is to monotonous and the road is boring and a little bit dull to me. I can't think of a better day than hitting the trails not knowing where I am going, but just exploring new trails I haven't ran yet. Running is what keeps me going. It is a realese for me, from school work, and the boring everyday routine. Running pretty much keeps me sane. I run because I dont want to have to get a student loan for college. I run beacause its what I am good at, and I love to win. Trail running has brought me new experiences, friends, and memories that I wouldn't trade for anything.
