Regarding Hammer products, will Perpetuem and Hammer Bars be available at the aid stations or just Hammer Gel and Heed as mentioned on an earlier post?
Just Hammer Gel and HEED. There will be other food sources available as well.

Does anyone know the total elevation gain for the race?

Ok here's the 100k map from Randy, aid stations are marked and he's working on exact distances for you. I'll post more when I have it.

If you look at the map on the main website, "100K course description" it states 8,000 ft of elevation gain on the elevation profile.

It's great that we can have four drop-bag locations. In which bag would you suggest leaving a headlamp? Lula Lake? Lula Lake Road?

Thanks!
I would probably say Covenant or Lula Lake Land Trust. It depends on your time but if you are coming close to the cutoff time at Lula Lake Land Trust it will be getting dark by then. Sunset is around 5:30 so you can gauge with what you think your time will be. It will have been dark for hours at Lula Lake Road if you are close to the cutoff.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm coming from Hawaii where mosquitoes never die and are quite prolific along the trails---will I get eaten alive at the aid stations, or will the cold temps kill all the mosquitoes by this time of year?

Also...what is the cover like on the trails? Will I need to worry about sunglasses and/or a hat?
Laura,
The cold temps kill off the mosquitoes this time of year. As far as coverage goes, it's winter so there isn't much left on the trees but I would suggest a hat for warmth (and other protective clothing). It's going to be a cold one! It can get pretty bright so you may want to pack the sunglasses. Hope this helps.
