Run in the Boonies

Chattanooga, TN

Things are wrapping up at Enterprise South trails with the park opening planned for Oct. 11th, if completed in time.  If anyone is interested in attending a work day, we could use the help (and the company!) this saturday.  (http://sorbachattanooga.org/wordpress/?page_id=5)  If running at ESNP isn't your thing, then still consider attending.......the sooner we can get those trails done, the sooner we can start breaking ground on Lookout Mtn and Raccoon for new trails.  If Sorba isn't your thing, then do it for your club.  If trail building isn't your thing, then please consider attending our Wine for the Climb fundraiser, tentatively planned for Jan 20th.  If vino isn't your thing, then, well, keep on doing the great things you do  :-)

I'll be there, what is the start time. Is Barry going to lock the gate once we are in. If so, I'll come through the back way and just meet everone at the site. We are working the beginner trail behind the picnic area, correct?
I think we meet at the front entrance at 830am. Yes, the gates are still locked. Some are staying after to ride, but I am not, so leave time is more flexible. Hopefully, this will be the end of the locked gates! Yes, I am fairly certain that's where we are working, at the beginner trail. I just follow the cars.....its confusing in there :-)

I saw Barry on Saturday after working the Stump Jump. I ran the trail from the picnic area back to point it joins back to the outward portion while searching for him, need to have as much help as possible for this Saturday as the opening is Monday the 11th. Bring gloves and water and let's finish this out. We'll all benefit by having trails on this side of town. If you need directions or info or if you just have questions about the trail and running the pipeline, powerlines or park area, just ask. I've been running and hiking this area for about 8 years. See you Saturday a.m. Mike
Well, the latest is that the park will not be opening on the 11th, The trail work is still a go for Saturday a.m. The good news is that county is allowing SORBA to conduct group riding while the work continues. Barry has opened the door for runners either to join in at the same times or at our own times. That means if anyone is interested we can get into the park and do road and trail runs. The catch is that it has to be organized. We all go in, we all come out. Any interest?
definitely interested (riding & running!) but so far timing hasn't worked out for me. what are you thinking of?
Maybe Saturday before noon or weeknight evening. SORBA is doing a weekly ride on Wed nights and Barry has invited runners out to participate. Meet at the gate at 6:00. If Saturday is good we can meet at 8:00 or 9:00 and hit the trails.
