How well is this trail marked?  Is it blazed white as well?  I am going to run it for the first time this coming Saturday.  I figure the Stump Jump and River Gorge race bring a lot of traffic to the…Continue

Google maps is a disaster. I tried adding some trails I mapped this past weekend on Lookout, and things started getting wierd. It is a pain to work with, and since it limits the number of features per page, areas as trail rich as Lookout don't…

Chattanooga Mountains Stage Race at Lookout Mountian, Raccoon Mountain, Signal Mountain

June 18, 2010 at 7am to June 20, 2010 at 5pm
Three days of great trail running in the beautiful mountains surrounding Chattanooga. 22 miles on Lookout Mountain on day one, 18 miles on Raccoon Mountain on day two and the 20 mile grand finale on Signal Mountain round out this challenging, but attainable series. Refuel each night at one of Chatttanooga’s great eateries.

Chester Frost Park is the closest camping I know of to Soddy Daisy, if you are looking for car camping. They do allow RV's but there are tent sites away from them. Some of the tent sites are right on the lake.

Scott Howell replied to Boonies's discussion 'Raccoon Mountain Trails Similar to any Nashville trails?'
I am not familiar with any trails in Nashville, but I would think any mountain biking trails with similiar elevation profiles would work. Mountain biking trails can be very different than hiking trails and the Raccoon Mountain ones seem to be…

you might want to check and see if the trails are open or not, it is turkey season and they close some parts off during hunting season.. and if there are not closed you might want to becarefull cause hunters will blast anything that moves!!!

Pot Point Loop

How well is this trail marked?  Is it blazed white as well?  I am going to run it for the first time this coming Saturday.  I figure the Stump Jump and River Gorge race bring a lot of traffic to the Mullens Cove loop to help keep it used and obvious.  I am not sure how much use the Pot Point loop gets, and if the trail is pretty obvious. Anything else I should know about the trail? Thanks,ScottSee More
