Rock/Creek River Gorge Trail Race at Prentice Cooper WMA

Thumbnail
March 27, 2010 from 8:30am to 12pm
These are single track trails with varied terrain. Lots of hills, rocks, and the occasional mild stream crossing. Every participant receives a Marmot Wicked Tech Tee.So who should run these races? All Runners! This race is meant to be fun and expose those of us who don't normally run on trails to the beautiful wilderness areas surrounding Chattanooga. Do not feel intimidated if you have never run on dirt trails before. It is not uncommon to walk many sections of a trail run. Remember that trail…See More

Thanks Mark. I will be done coaching cross country at that point and I am always looking for a winter race. I will check it out and see the details. I plan to run at Fall Creek Falls this weekend (1/2 marathon) since it is close to home.

Jan, Several of us are going down to do Black Warrior in Feb. (there is a 25K option as well-and you can change distances right up to race day). It's a nice, relatively fast course. Might be right up your alley.

The extra miles really don't feel much different, even though I was out there twice as long. The aid stations, the help, the course and competitors kept me going. Early in the race, I got off course with a group of runners, adding 20 minutes to my time. It took about 13 miles before we caught the group that was just ahead of us. I have to look up…See More
